Cape and Islands Red Cross to Honor Local Heroes

The annual Heroes Breakfast hosted by the Cape and Islands chapter of the American Red Cross honors community members who perform extraordinary acts of courage by saving someone’s life, helping rescue someone in need, or someone who donates countless hours of service to community organizations.

Here is the list of this year’s recipients:

Life Saving: Caleb Nicholson, Neal Farrell and JT Maher of Martha’s Vineyard, Austin

McDannald of Norwich, CT, Nicholas O'Donoughue of Arlington, MA, Wayne Bergeron of Dennis, Janake Christensen of North Truro and Henry Baker, Jr. of West Yarmouth

Good Samaritan: SSgt. Keith Soares of New Bedford and Eileen Redfield of South Yarmouth

Professional: Dr. Thomas Whelan of Orleans; Dep. Chief Anthony Pike, FF Tim Gula, LT

The event will be held at the Hyannis Resort and Conference Center April 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
