Precinct 11 Town Councilor June Daley is hosting a meeting at the community building to discuss construction and plans for the Old Selectmen's building.
The meeting is on Tuesday, September 4 at 6:00 pm.
Several town officials are scheduled to participate including Interim DPW Director Bob Canevazzi, Growth Management Director Jo Anne Miller Buntich, Community Services Director Lynne Poyant and John Juros from the DPW.
The meeting’s first objective is to inform the West Barnstable Community Building (WBCB) users of the pending construction schedule. Town staff will review their current plan for this work as they prepare for the construction activity.
With the new septic system installed, the town plans to immediately commence the site work that is necessary to make the WBCB, the Old Selectmen’s Building (OSB) more user-friendly. he second objective of the informational meeting is to discuss their proposed site improvements. Town staff will review their proposed plan for this phase of the site improvements.
A portion of the site improvement work must be budgeted and requested within the upcoming FY 2014 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and Operating Budget process. If approved, that work can proceed upon the completion of the renovation of the OSB. Town staff will review their proposed plan for this phase of the site improvements.
The third objective of the meeting is to provide information regarding the pending historic preservation of the OSB. A portion of the preservation effort is funded. That work will soon begin in earnest. Town staff will review their current plan for this work as they prepare for the pending construction.
