Summer rentals on Martha's Vineyard never come cheap: Why pinch pennies when you're on vacation?
We think we've found the priciest rental on offer for the summer of 2013: The owners of an estate in Aquinnah are offering it at $85,000 for the month of August, or $25,000 a week with a two-week minimum.
If you want to come in June or September, you can rent the property for just $10,000 a week (two-week minimum) or $30,000 a month. July rents for $15,000 a week (two-week minimum) or $50,000 a month.
The week of Labor Day rents for $30,000 and Fourth of July week for $15,000.
The 3,200-square-foot house has five bedrooms, five and a half baths and sleeps 12, according to the listing on the Vacation Rental By Owner website.
Along with wraparound picture windows with views of Vineyard Sound, the Elizabeth Islands and the North Shore, the rental includes:
- spa with sauna, steam, and jacuzzi
- outdoor hot tub
- spring-fed pond
- "adorable playhouse"
- "expansive emerald lawn"
- stone-paved picnic area
- private beach
The owners stipulate that only one wedding a year may take place on the estate, "to preserve the property."
