We're more than a week into spring, according to the calendar, but only lately have I felt like spring is in the air. This weekend I sat outside and let the sun warm my face, and I even walked my dogs without a jacket.
Today, there's sun lighting up the still-brown grass outside my window, and I can hear birds of all kinds in the trees. On my morning walk, I saw a few tiny flowers in bloom (see photo) along my neighbor's walkway. (I'm not sure what kind of flowers they are — anyone know?)
I think it will take a few more sunny, warm days to get the grass to take on a nice shade of green — and likely some April showers as well to feed the earth. I'm going to keep watching for signs of spring in my neighborhood, as they are a cheerful reminder that spring is here and summer is just around the corner.
