The Seastreak fast ferry service has added a Boston-to-New Bedford bus link for Martha's Vineyard passengers in 2013.

It's been years since the Seastreak fast ferry service departed from Boston, but soon passengers will once again be able to buy a ticket in the Hub for a trip to Martha's Vineyard aboard the high-speed catamaran.

It's good news for travelers, as long as they don't expect to actually board the boat in Boston.

According to the ferry service website

Our travel affiliate Tremblay Bus Company will provide you with safe, comfortable & professional service from South Station in Boston to Seastreak’s New Bedford ferry terminal. From there you will board our state of the art high speed ferry.

The new service will run May 24 through Oct. 14 with Boston departures at 11 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekends.

Martha's Vineyard departures are scheduled for 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on weekdays, 10:50 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.

The bus and ferry rides each take one hour and there are New Bedford layovers of 10 to 50 minutes, depending on the trip. Find out more here.

A representative at the ferry service's toll-free number said the cost to ride the bus/boat service is $35 one way, $70 round trip.
