A robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Eastern Bank on Rt. 28 at about 1 this afternoon, according to the Cape Cod Times.
There were no customers in the bank at the time of the incident. The robber handed a teller a note demanding money and insinuating he had a gun. Members of the Barnstable Police Department told the Cape Cod Times the man did not pull out a gun during the robbery.
The robber fled the bank on foot. Barnstable police called a K-9 unit to the scene and are searching the nearby housing complex Windmill Square.
