Meaghann Kenney has donated countless hours to help organize the annual Figawi Ball for the past five years because she believes in its mission. The ball has raised more than $3 million dollars for Cape charities since its inception. Raising money for local charities and making sure the money stays on Cape Cod is important for Kenney.
“That’s the coolest part, I can’t say that enough, every dollar stays local,” Kenney said.
Cape charities that have benefited from the ball in the past include Hospice House, Children’s Cove, a Baby Center, the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch and many more.
This year the event will feature great local music, food from the best Cape Cod restaurants, a casino, raffle and silent auction.
To shake things up a bit organizers chose “A Black and White Affair” for this year’s theme. Guests are encouraged to don their best black and white attire for the evening.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday May 18 at the Hyannis Resort and Conference Center.
Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online, at Puritan clothing and at the Cape Cod Mall information center.
