The District 10 American Legion All-Star Committee announced today that it has secured the talents of the “We Are the Men” choir to perform the National Anthem at the 2013 Compass Moving 2nd Annual District 10 All-Star Game slated for Monday, July 8 at McKeon Park in Hyannis, Mass.

The all-star game represents the best high-school aged amateur baseball talent in the state and it was established last year at Eldredge Park with the aid and efforts of Orleans Post 308 as well as Marshfield Post 88 and Kingston Post 387.

Numerous student-athletes received considerable collegiate scholarship offers from this special one-day event – one which featured over 60 college coaches in attendance as well as 15 professional scouts from Major League Baseball.

Last year, former longtime District 10 Commissioner Jack Grandy was honored for his 17 years of service to amateur baseball in District 10.

This year, the committee will honor Massachusetts Maritime 43-year head coach and athletic director Bob Corradi who captured three State Championships as head coach of Sandwich Post 188 American Legion.

We Are the Men is a 40-man choir directed by Cape Cod Chorale director Chris Roberts who also serves as Director of Music at Chatham Middle School and Chatham High School. In addition to the National Anthem, We Are the Men will also perform during the 7th Inning Stretch. The game will feature the 60 top all-stars of District 10’s 306 players. Game time is 7:00 pm with the National Anthem being rendered at 6:56 pm.

The Korean War Veterans Association of Cape Cod Color Guard will be present the colors prior to the singing of the National Anthem.
