In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Chairman Cedric Cromell said the devasted tribe is praying for justice in the alleged murder of one of its members, Crystal Perry.
Perry, 43, and Kristopher Williams, 24, were identified in a double-homicide that occurred early Wednesday morning on Central Avenue in East Falmouth.
"Crystal was a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and dear friend to many, who are stunned and saddened by her sudden and brutal murder," Cromell wrote in the statement. "Our hearts are broken that her life has been cut short in such a vicious manner."
The initial investigation suggests both were fatally injured by a severe blunt and sharp force trauma.
Currently, the crime is still under investigation. No suspect has been named at this time.
"We [the tribe] ask for healing, not just for Crystal’s family but for the community at large," Cromell wrote. "We ask our law enforcement professionals for their vigilance in searching for and capturing the criminal who committed this evil act."
