The Hyannis Harbor Arts Center at the Guyer Barn is pleased to participate, with the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies and the Cape Cod Maritime Museum in A Whale of a Day with Ibis, on Sunday July 22nd from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
This unique program for children of all ages begins at the HHAC at Guyer Barn with a puppet making workshop with Center artists Julien Havard, Melissa Stopyra & Karen Billard. With the puppets, the children will be participating in a unique theatrical experience, which immediately follows at Aselton Park.
The Tale of Ibis is a children’s theater production adapted and directed by Jody O'Neil, based on John Himmelman's book, "Ibis, A True Whale Story." This live action/puppet production retells the story of the first whale successfully disentangled by the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies.
After the play, children and their families will continue on to the Cape Cod Maritime Museum for games and activities with Museum staff and staff from the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies.
Tickets are $15 for families with one child, $20 for families with two or more children. To register for the event, go towww.capecodmaritimemuseum.org. For more information, please email hhac@hyartsdistrict.com.
