Ah, New England and nature.
Snow, heat, cold, fog, pelting hail and wind-driven horizontal rain, we have it. We also have hurricanes, tornadoes, Nor'easters, lunar tides, coyotes, deer, ticks, scallops, and sharks! Salt marsh, beach, ocean, woods, meadows, Old Squaws, waterfront farms, cranberry bogs, cranes and osprey! There are so many opportunities to snap a picture of nature. Too many to list here.
If you've taken a great picture of a nature scene, share it with Patch and your neighbors.
Let us know in the caption: your first and last name, what town you're from, where the photo was snapped, and any other information you think we should know.
Photos of nature in from outside New England are OK.
Braintree editor Joseph Markman and Plymouth editor Casey Meserve, representing the South Shore and regional editor Margaret Bergman, representing the Cape and Martha's Vineyard, have contributed photos to get the ball rolling. These are unofficial entries.
This is part of Patch’s summer Picture of the Week series, where we’re asking you for your best pictures on a certain topic each week.
We’ve added a little incentive. The winning submission will get a $75 gift card, plus bragging rights.
We’ll be taking photo submissions each week from 9 a.m. Tuesday through noon Friday. Voting will begin at 4 a.m. Saturday and end at 9 a.m. Monday, so make sure to check back over the weekend to vote for your favorite picture.
