Barnstable Police's Street Crimes Unit arrested a fugitive from Sandwich wanted for breaking and entering and drug offenses among his six outstanding warrants.
On Saturday members of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit (SCU), lead by SCU member Mass State Police Sgt Steve Lopes, traveled to Quincy to arrest a Max B. Cataneo, age 22, of Sandwich, police said.
Police said Cataneo was aware he was wanted on Cape Cod. He allegedly fled to Quincy in an attempt to elude police. Police investigators tracked him and located him at a Quincy residence, police said.
Cataneo attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a brief foot chase by SCU member Barnstable Officer Peter Ginnetty, according to police.
Quincy Police booked Cataneo on his outstanding warrants and he was transported back to Barnstable Police Department where he is being held without bail until his arraignment tomorrow.
The six warrants are for the following:

CATANEO is a known drug addict who is suspected in numerous house breaks in the last several months all over the Cape. During CATANEO’s “crime spree”, he was breaking into houses during the day and stealing the victim’s jewelry. Police Investigators expect to charge him with additional housebreaks in the coming weeks.
