Dennis-Yarmouth High School's Spencer Tyler (5) follows orders from fellow captain Jamarie Hall as Barnstable's Jason Eddy guards the ball.

Dennis-Yarmouth looked like it was in the driver's seat all night long.

That is, of course, until senior point guard Manny Perry drilled a jumper as regulation time expired to knot the score at 56-56.

Perry finished the night with a well-earned 16 points, including an invaluable 5-6 performance from the charity stripe in overtime - an effort that very well may have proved the difference.

Junior tall man Sean Skagstead - a new student this year at Barnstable High - matched Perry's offensive output with his own 16-point effort - an effort that seemed flawless beneath the basket throughout the evening.

But with just 2:00 to go in the game and D-Y seeming to erase every ounce of momentum Barnstable tried to build with some inspiring play from the likes of sophomore LK Metz (14 points, 5 steals) and senior captain Jamarie Hall (16 pts.), it was the Red Raiders' Jason Eddy who literally stole the show.

Eddy blocked a Metz' three-point shot attempt, recovered the ball at mid-court and dribbled like lightning down the court to lay it in, while taking a foul along the way. The effort electrified the crowd and perhaps cast a shadow of doubt across the collective consciousness and confidence of the Dolphin five.

Whatever the case may have been, this game was thrilling down to the very end, into overtime and down to the game's final, waning seconds as Perry and Eddy's free throws - which came with both teams in the double-bonus - solidified victory.

Barnstable's win came on the heels of a 59-56 nailbiter two nights ago at Bridgewater-Raynham as the Red & White captured its league-opener on a late-second Eddy trey.

Others who scored for Barnstable included Nick Peabody (10 pts.), Tedaro France (6 pts.), Eddy with 12 pts., Jake Kipnes (5 pts.), Nick Peabody (10 pts.), Derek Estes (2 pts.) and Danny Walsh (2 pts.).

For D-Y it was junior captain Spencer Tyler (9 pts), senior John Balboni (6 pts.), senior Jim Tereau (6 pts.), junior Connor Coughlan (3 pts.), junioir Mike Anderson (8 pts.) and senior Shawn Mitchell (2 pts.)
