Can you identify the place or the people in this mystery photo?

First, taking things out of order here one time, contact the Marstons Mills Library and reserve a ticket for Sunday’s annual chicken barbeque. It costs $10. And if you go to the 23d annual Marstons Mills Village Day to enjoy the pony rides, face painting, dunk tank, moonwalk, vendors, woodcutter, blacksmith, juggler, magician, the 50/50 raffle, the music, the fire department’s bubble spraying and more, but you miss out on the BBQ, well, you will have missed out. Then, look through old photos you or a family member may have of life in the village. This year the event offers a challenge to visitors to identify any of 50 “mystery photos” of village life. The festivities begin at 12:15pm, the chicken begins coming off the grill at 4.

Now, back to the format. We should expect fog early, later a chance of thunderstorms, partly sunny skies with a high temperature of 7 degrees and a light breeze from Plymouth.

Word of the Day: Twittion - a petition on Twitter.

When did the first submarine attack occur? World War I? No. The American Revolution. This day in 1776, the Turtle, a one-man, hand-powered submersible attempted to attach a time bomb to the hull of the British ship Eagle in New York Harbor. Because of operator error, the bomb exploded between the ship and the submarine damaging neither.

A women’s networking group, “a sorority for gownups,” will convene at the Bleu Restaurant in Mashpee Commons at 11am.
